Foundation & Faith: 3 ways to tap into the magic
of a fresh new year (even now!)

I love January. I love the special kind of magic that’s available in the first few weeks of a new year. But by this point in the month, many of us have settled back into life-as-normal and missed this rare opportunity. Don’t let this happen to you.

Even though we’re at the end of January, there’s still time to grab the helm and set your course for a remarkable year. Here are three practices that will strengthen your foundation and unleash an unshakable faith in you that this year can be truly transformational.

When I mentioned to a couple of friends yesterday that I’ve had this unrelenting urge to just rip open every closet and throw things out, they just smiled and nodded their heads. We all seem to feel it. Things that were just fine a few weeks ago now irk and annoy us. If you’re feeling this discontent listen to it. It’s pinpointing what you’ve outgrown and need to release.

Start clearing, resolving and releasing anything that no longer supports you. Take a few minutes daily to toss out, sort, file, or repair the ‘little’ things that have gradually cluttered your life. Ask yourself “Does this serve me now? Do I love this?” If the answer is “No” let it go. Each time you do, you’ll release a burst of energy. You’ll build your muscle of initiative, and strengthen your belief that you can make the changes you want this year.

Rather than trying to figure out your goals for the year, start first by re-committing to your best habits. Quite likely, during the busy-ness of the Fall, you stopped doing many of the things you know support your success. Scientists call this ‘entropy’ – things tend to go from order to disorder, unless we do something about it. This is the perfect time to use the uplifting energy of the New Year to turn this around.

As you go through your day, ask yourself “What do I know works for me in this area? What’s my best practice? Am I willing to re-commit to it, now?” Each small change — like taking vitamins, filing papers, getting to the gym, taking daily action to market your services — restores your “A-game” and builds your faith that you can create something amazing in your business this year

Really daydream
You have within you a guidance system that already knows the highest potential for you and your business this year. You don’t need to figure out your goals. You just need to slow down enough to hear the whispering of your heart’s desires.

Giving yourself space to daydream will reveal what’s really possible this year. Ask yourself two simple, yet profound questions. “What do I want? What don’t I want?” As ideas come to you jot them down.

Then, imagine it’s a year from now and you actually have everything you’ve written about. What would this bring you that you don’t currently have? The answer will reveal the transformation your soul yearns for. Capture it in an inspiring theme like “Alive!,” “Connected and connecting,” “Life Upgrade,” “Stepping into my true power.” Let this theme guide your goal-setting, and you’ll put yourself on a path to happiness and fulfillment.

It’s not too late to harness the magical power of a fresh new year. I invite you use these practices starting today to seize this special energy, and make this a truly remarkable year.
