Life Vision: Is your Business Serving Your Life?

“Tell me, what is it you plan to do
with your one wild and precious life?”
Mary Oliver

Our business is meant to serve our life. However for that to happen, we first need to get very clear about how we want our lives to be.

What kind of life do you want to create?

As the CEO of your life, one of your most important jobs is to define your life vision. It’s tempting to begin with a picture that’s a practical, predictable continuation of your life so far. Instead, I invite you to design a vision that’s based on what really matters. One that, if you lived it, would be an extraordinary life for you.

Life dreams come in infinite shapes and sizes and are unique to each of us.

  • Michelle’s dream is to create a home-based business that allows her the time and flexibility to be with her special needs son while caring for her elderly mother.
  • Deanna, a recent divorcee whose youngest child just left home, dreams of having a fulfilling career that expresses her buried inner artist and of finding true love at midlife.
  • Suzanne, an accomplished educator in Singapore and mother of two young girls, dreams of never returning to a 60-hour work week and of finding new ways of generating income that allow her to use her gifts and be with her girls.
  • Jessica yearns to become debt-free and build a highly profitable business that leaves her time to enjoy semi-retirement with her husband.
  • Each of these dreams was a response to a deep, heart’s desire in these women’s lives. They didn’t think it was possible to realize those aspirations, but they are doing it.

Take time to think about your dream. What is the life you most want to live? What do you really want your life to look like? Feel like? What is it, that if you didn’t accomplish it, you’d regret at the end of your life?

I invite you to reawaken to your deepest desires, and use them to shape a life vision that truly inspires you. Once you do, you’ll be ready to grow a business that helps you realize your wild and precious life vision.

    Warmly,
    Barb
