Passion: Two Questions That Will Pinpoint Your Passion

March 7th, 2011 · No Comments · Find Your Passion, Personal Leadership

One of your most important jobs as a business owner is to pinpoint your passion and make it the cornerstone of your business.  When you know and trust your passion to your bones it will fuel you, guide your business evolution and put you on a path for limitless success.

But, how do you find your true passion? How do you discover what you do best and love doing?

There is a powerful secret that has helped hundreds of people find their uniqueness.  You can start to identify your passion immediately by asking two simple questions:

  • What energizes me?
  • What drains me?

Simple, but profound.  By attuning to what energizes you and lights you up, you’ll recognize quickly what you naturally do best.  Equally, by listening to what depletes you, what irks you, or weighs you down, you’ll understand what you need to stop doing in your business, or delegate to others.

When you slow down and recognize these signals, you’re reawakening your connection to your inner knowing, your intuition, the voice of your soul.  When listened to, this inner guidance system will clearly show you what you are uniquely equipped to do.

As you go through your day, stop yourself periodically and ask “Is what I’m doing right now enlivening?  Is it lighting me up?  Or depleting me?”  Jot down your observations in a notebook.  Don’t make judgements about what this might mean, just notice.  Over the course of the next few days take stock of as many of your key activities as you can.  The more concrete and specific you are, the more potent the clues will be.

As you define your passion you will harness a powerful force for growing a remarkable business.  It will provide the underlying compass settings for all aspects of your business, and when acted on will put you in charge of your destiny.
