Year-end Debrief: Getting Started

December 17th, 2009 · No Comments · Productivity, Vision

I live my life at such a fast pace,it’s hard to even remember what happened a year ago. Any tips for getting started?

Facing the blank page of our lives can feel daunting at first. Especially for those of us who live a fully engaged, high-pace life. Here are a few ways to shift into the broader view of your life:

• If you keep a journal, re-read it from this date last year to remind you of what was happening in your life, what issues concerned you, and your emotional tone.
• Pull out your photo album and flip through your photos from the year.
• Look over your date book to refresh your memory of major events.

“Taking time to check in and really think about your life is extremely important to your self-care (and to the self-care of your family). Build a strong foundation for success by focusing on what’s working instead of what still needs to change. As you learn to acknowledge your personal development you build self-respect and self-trust.”
